Costco Offers Discounted Apple Subscriptions

Apple News

Costco has started selling discounted subscriptions to Apple TV+, Apple News+ or Apple Arcade at discounted yearly prices, according to a MacRumors report Thursday (May 19).

‌Apple Arcade‌ is available for $44.99 to Costco members, down from the standard yearly price of $49.99. The same discounted price is being offered for ‌Apple TV+‌, while Apple News‌+ is available for $89.99 for a year of service.

Apple does not offer an annual subscription to ‌Apple News‌+, selling it for $9.99 a month, or a total yearly price of $120. In contrast, Costco’s $90 fee represents a 25% discount.

Costco’s discounted Apple subscriptions seem to be a new offering from the discount retail club, MacRumors reported.

Earlier this month, Apple announced plans to restructure its services to get more into streaming and advertising, and the company is moving around some executives as part of that overhaul.

For example, Todd Teresi will now be in charge of advertising. This responsibility was held by Peter Stern, who was in charge of several services including video, news, books, iCloud, Fitness+ and Apple One. Teresi has worked in Apple’s advertising arm for over a decade.

Apple is also looking into a grocery ordering service that will focus on nutrition, PYMNTS reported, noting the delivery service may come with a nutrition tracking element that isn’t available on other services. It might also be able to integrate into the Health app, adding nutritional data directly.
