Citi is launching a digital liquidity solution for corporate treasurers, the bank announced on Wednesday (Feb. 13).
The CitiDirect BE Cash Concentration solution provides digital cash pooling structure management for treasurers using the bank’s online treasury management solution. The tool enables treasurers to change transfer pricing parameters, inter-account lending limits, and SWIFT message descriptions.
According to Citi, the solution is designed to provide a more agile way for treasures to gain visibility and manage cash concentration structures.
“The launch of this solution further builds upon Citi’s long commitment to creating innovative tools to provide for our clients’ financial needs,” said Citi Global Head of Liquidity Management Services at Treasury and Trade Solutions Mark Smith in a statement. “The intuitive portal will provide transparency [and give] clients direct control over their liquidity structures. Treasurers can now make more informed and faster funding decisions around the globe.”
The launch of CitiDirect BE Cash Concentration follows the rollout of Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions’ collaboration with Feedzai to introduce real-time risk management for corporate treasurers. Announced in December, the partnership deploys Feedzai’s artificial intelligence technology and transaction monitoring portal.
At the time, Citi also announced an investment in Feedzai via its venture capital arm, Citi Ventures.
“Our strategic partnership with Feedzai demonstrates our commitment to using technology to drive innovation,” said Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions Global Head of Payments and Receivables Manish Kohli in a statement when the partnership was announced. “With the help of Feedzai’s solution, we can scale rapidly in an effort to deliver value to our clients, allowing them to make payments securely, efficient and without friction, across the globe.”
Other banking technology companies have targeted the cash pooling space, including Temenos, which announced in October the launch of a cash management solution for corporate treasurers called Hybrid Pooling. The solution enables banks to link their own business clients with cash and liquidity management facilities in a similar push for enhanced visibility.
