Crypto Payments Firm RocketFuel, PaymentCloud Team on Merchant Payments Tool

Cryptocurrency payments and infrastructure company RocketFuel on Tuesday (Sept. 13) announced it had reached an agreement to offer its products with merchant-services provider PaymentCloud.

Under the arrangement, according to RocketFuel, PaymentCloud will now enable merchants to provide customers a “Pay With Crypto” option for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

RocketFuel Chief Executive Peter Jensen said in a prepared statement that PaymentCloud already has signed up 20 customers for the new service and 15 are up-and-running accepting cryptocurrency payments, adding: “Our super-fast processing power, real-time payment options, and secure and stable transactions are a huge value-add to PaymentCloud merchants.”

The service allows paying bills and purchasing products, according to PaymentCloud, which stated in marketing materials that it seeks to provide secure payments processing for businesses in a variety of sectors and facing various levels of risk.

RocketFuel states in marketing materials that it offers “one-click checkout” tools that work with more than 120 cryptocurrencies.

San Francisco-based RocketFuel said on its website: “Users are able to enjoy seamless check-out using their favorite cryptocurrencies or direct bank transfers and forget the clunky cart paradigm of the past. Merchants are able to implement new impulse buying schemes and generate new sales channels unavailable in current eCommerce solutions.”

In July, PYMNTS reported that RocketFuel had unveiled a B2B cross-border payments tool relying on a combination of crypto and fiat currencies.

Jensen said at the time: “An important factor that is pushing crypto payments into mainstream is settlement layers using stablecoins, in particular USDT and USDC. This is not yet so visible for the retail customer but has a very important effect on the general integration of crypto-rails for financial institutions, creating stable, programmable and efficient settlement layers.”
