Retail MPOS Investments Worth $20K Per Store

Large retailers will turn to mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solutions in greater numbers during the second half of 2013, Mobile Commerce Daily reports. Research from technology firm Yankee Group suggested 61 percent of large retailers have either adopted mPOS solutions or are making plans to do so before 2014.

    “As we move into the holiday shopping season, we are going to see a lot more [mPOS], and I think it is really going to stick,” Jordan McKee, a Yankee Group analyst, told Mobile Commerce Daily. “I don’t think it is going to be just implemented for line busting. It is going to be the full package.”

    Yankee’s research suggests large retailers can boost revenue by $20,000 per location by adopting mPOS.
