    Nearly 200 participants are spending 24 hours developing new apps for PayPal’s API, The Jerusalem Post reported on Feb. 6. They are competing for a $100,000 cash prize.

    In an interview, PayPal’s global director for developer networks, John Lunn, remarked that the event helps the company keep tabs on its services and generate new information that can help improve the API.

    “By observing how they interact with our APIs, we can go back and make them better,” he said.
