Emburse Buys DVI To Bolster Corporate Expense Analytics

Emburse has purchased travel data expert DVI (Data Visualization Intelligence) to grow its spend management analytics capabilities for businesses. Terms of the deal were not made public, according to a Tuesday (March 16) announcement.

“This acquisition strengthens our analytics capabilities and provides customers with comprehensive data and insights to increase control and make smarter spend decisions,” Emburse CEO Eric Friedrichsen said in the announcement.

Emburse can help organizations make the most of their travel programs by unleashing the potential of their data through DVI’s technology. Clients will receive a live view into big, intricate data sets, which meaningfully bolsters travel and expense (T&E) spend management, vendor negotiations and program compliance, according to the announcement.

The technology of DVI lets organizations generate insights from all kinds of travel expenses ranging from meals to rental cars and hotels as well as flights, with the inclusion of trips a travel agency sets up and those reserved beyond a firm’s approved tools.

“In addition to companies understanding their own spend patterns, DVI is able to help corporate travel teams benchmark their lodging and transportation spend. This enables more effective vendor contract negotiations and policy creation,” DVI President and CEO Brian Beard said in the announcement.

Recently, Emburse rolled out a managed services offering called Emburse Insight Advisor that lets organizations “maximize the impact of their spend data,” according to the announcement. The offering provides complex tailored report authoring and insights functions joined with a workforce of consultants who can help form reports and offer expert knowledge into benchmarks, key performance indicators (KPIs) and sector trends.

In October, Emburse said it had rolled out Emburse Global Reimbursements, meant to help pay staffer expenses in a more efficient and economical manner. The company also said in the same month that it had launched Tallie Travel and Emburse Cards.

Emburse provides a collection of expense and accounts payable (AP) automation products. More than 16,000 clients ranging from upstarts to large international companies use Emburse.
