The Visa Direct Preferred Partner Program is now available to FinTechs, acquirers, treasury banks and payment processors worldwide as a way to help providers have access to the right tools to develop successful global money movement solutions.

Offering technical training, sales, and go-to-market resources, the global Visa Direct Preferred Partner Program aims to accelerate time to market and help facilitate near real-time money mobility, both domestically and across borders, according to a press release shared with PYMNTS on Wednesday (Aug. 10).

“The global launch of the Visa Direct Preferred Partner program is yet another testament to Visa’s deep understanding that both the future of payments and the growth of the Visa network is determined by the success of our enablement partners,” according to the release.

By continuing to invest in the program’s partners, “we can help drive continued innovation in the payments ecosystem” with an eye on expanding the push payments market and money movement globally.

Money movement automation platform Astra started using Visa Direct to integrate a means for faster payments, PYMNTS reported on Tuesday (Aug. 9). With Visa Direct, Astra consumers can fund a new debit card in real-time and move money from an existing debit card.

Currently live in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, the Visa Direct Preferred Partner Program has expansion plans on tap that include adding Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the coming months.

The program currently works with over 25 partners, including Checkout.com, Commerce Payments, Carat from Fiserv, Moneris Solutions, TabaPay and YellowPepper, among others.

Benefits of the program include business enablement support, product training, sales and marketing, access to the preferred partnership community, and solutions support, according to the release.

Western Union expanded its integration with Visa’s real-time money movement network Visa Direct, PYMNTS reported on Tuesday (Aug. 9). The expanded partnership lets Western Union customers in the U.S. send funds in near real-time to eligible Visa debit cards in Colombia, El Salvador, Jamaica, the Philippines, Romania and Thailand.
