Amadeus and Emburse Partner on Business Travel and Expense Solution

Amadeus, Emburse Team on Business Travel, Expense Solution

Amadeus and Emburse have partnered on a business travel and expense solution for global enterprises.

This new strategic partnership brings together Amadeus’ collaboration and travel capabilities and Emburse’s expense management functionality, the companies said in a Wednesday (June 28) press release.

“The two companies offer a number of complementary solutions that span the entire business travel journey,” Emburse CEO Eric Friedrichsen said in the release. “This relationship enables us to empower global enterprises with state-of-the-art tools that offer greater simplicity for their end-users, while creating value for the enterprise through greater visibility and more efficient travel spending.”

The integration of the capabilities of the two companies will offer global enterprises an integrated suite of tools that includes trip planning and booking, expense reporting, reconciliation, reimbursements and spend analytics, according to the release. It also includes travel companion apps and integrated card programs.

Amadeus will promote Emburse Chrome River to corporations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Benelux, while Emburse will add Cytric Travel and Cytric Easy for Microsoft Teams to its portfolio of solutions, the release said.

“By leveraging our two companies’ complementary strengths, we are greatly enhancing the traveler’s digital and mobile experience and corporations’ travel spend and policy management throughout the entire travel journey,” Amadeus Cytric Solutions Executive Vice President Rudy Daniello said in the release. “All of this will enable corporations to optimize their travel spend in terms of cost, carbon emission and productivity collaboration.”

The rise of the connected economy and the blurring of lines between digital and in-person realms has shaken up the corporate travel market and changed how corporate travel is booked and paid for.

The Centre for Aviation reported earlier this year that business travel demand may see a rapid upturn as 2023 progresses but has remained at about 19% below pre-pandemic levels.

In another recent development in the business travel space, Airwallex and Expedia Group said in May that they have teamed up to offer a discount to global business travelers.

Existing and new users of the Airwallex payments and financial platform can receive a 10% discount off hotel stays that they book on the Expedia travel technology platform.
