Digital bank and FinTech Green Dot said Dan R. Henry, its CEO and president, left the company Friday (Oct. 14), and it has named George Gresham, its chief financial officer and chief operating officer, as his successor. Henry has also resigned as a member of the company’s board of directors, according to a Monday (Oct. 17) press release.

Gresham has served as the company’s chief financial and operating officer and as a member of the board of directors since October 2021. While serving as the new CEO and president and continuing to serve as a member of the board, he will keep serving as chief financial and operating officer until a successor is appointed, Green Dot said in the release.

“The board is confident that George is the right person to lead Green Dot through its next phase of growth, and we are grateful to have a proven leader of George’s caliber and experience to step into the role of chief executive,” Green Dot Chairman of the Board of Directors William I. Jacobs said in the release.

Prior to rejoining the board of directors in October 2021, Gresham served on the board from May 2016 to May 2019. He is a veteran executive of payments and FinTech firms.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Green Dot Board and management team to advance our objectives — enhancing shareholder value and building Green Dot into one of the leading FinTech companies with a digital bank,” Gresham said in the release.

Green Dot also reaffirmed its third-quarter earnings guidance in the release.
