The Facebook Of B2B Goes Mobile

When it comes to B2B, companies are more likely to be found on social media sites LinkedIn and Twitter. But as more B2B firms invest in social media efforts to connect buyers and suppliers, one company has launched its own social media platform just for business-to-business players. Now, that platform is going mobile.

According to reports earlier this week, social media site BusinessVibes has launched its Android mobile application, bringing its platform that allows professionals to access potential business clients to employees’ smartphones.

BusinessVibes said it spent a year researching and testing out its new product to ensure the site offers exactly what businesses need when they want to go social. The app allows businesses to connect with more than 55 million other companies across more than 100 industries, the firm said, and allows companies to create their own profiles to be found by other businesses.

In the same way a Facebook user might friend another, BusinessVibes also allows companies to use the handshake feature, which makes an official connection between two companies on the site to initiate sales. A built-in messenger feature allows companies to communicate digitally with each other.

The app even allows suppliers to build their own online stores.

“The BusinessVibes app will revolutionize the way business is done on mobile, thanks to our advanced matchmaking search algorithm that is sure to make this app the most efficient B2B marketplace to date,” the company said in a statement. “The smart and easy to use interface encourages global selling and networking, turning your calling device into a complete money making machine.”

BusinessVibes, which is offering the app for free through the Google Play Store, said it will soon roll out an iOS version, though the company did not indicate a date for that launch.
