MasterCard Brings Mobile Payments to South Africa

    According to a report at bizcommunity.com, MasterCard and Maestro cardholders will be able to use their PIN-based debit, cheque or credit cards issued by Absa, Nedbank and Standard Bank, combined with a mobile phone on either the MTN or Vodacom network, to complete online purchases. This marks the first time Maestro customers can buy online, bizcommunity says.
