Italian Bank Begins NFC Trial

Italy’s UBI Banca has partnered with Vodafone Italia to trial an NFC payments service in the Northern city of Varese. The trial will allow the bank ‘s customers to store a prepaid card on an NFC-enabled smartphone and use to carry out transaction at any merchant equipped with MsterCard’s PayPass system.
