Rakuten Goes Cashless With Yapital Collaboration

Online eCommerce destination Rakuten Shopping has announced a new partnership with cross-channel payment solution provider Yapital that will continue to develop over the coming months, the companies say.

    The deal expands Rakuten’s portfolio to include cashless payment methods, a move that Yapital chairman Nils Winkler said “[puts] the focus on the customer and “[makes] it easier for people to buy what they want.”

    “Yapital is currently the only genuine provider of cross-channel payment solutions and is therefore a very exciting partner for us with a fantastic product,” Beate Rank, CEO of Rakuten Deutschland, said in the release.

    Earlier this week, Rakuten announced that it has joined MasterCard’s MasterPass (http://www.pymnts.com/briefing-room/mobile/mobile-wallets/2013/mastercard-masterpass-adds-burger-king-livingsocial-ratuken/?utm_source=May+16%2C+2013&utm_campaign=May+16+NL&utm_medium=email) program as well.
