Study: Cross-Border Sales Comprise Majority Of eTransactions In Spain

According to eCommerceFacts, 43.2 percent of all online purchases made in Spain go towards foreign online retailers. The report indicates that in the first quarter of 2013, Spain’s online sales market reached a total value of €2.8 billion, which was a 15.1 percent increase from last year’s results.

    Moreover, just 40 percent of Spanish eCommerce sales were purchased from local Spanish retail sites. Forty-three percent of the country’s online transactions were cross-border sales, and 16.4 percent of purchases were made by foreigners buying from Spanish merchants.
