V.me By Visa Launches In Four New Markets

Visa’s digital wallet service V.me is now live in the U.K., France, Spain and Poland, a company press release indicated on November 27.

    Major issuers will soon launch the service in all four markets, Visa said. A similar pilot program is expected to debut in Ireland in 2014.

    “V.me by Visa gives merchants and issuers an acceptance mark that will work across Europe,” Steve Perry, chief commercial officer at Visa Europe, said in a November 27 statement. “Mobile phones, tablets and the use of digital payments have changed the nature of commerce: consumers want to be able to buy from the merchant of their choice via any device without sharing their card details.”
