Prepaid payment network Blackhawk and mobile payments service Montise are teaming up, according to a new press release. Citing growing consumer demand globally, the companies plan to allow consumers to purchase gift cards through select banks and financial institutions.
The partnership will allow for the purchase of prepaid gift cards from Blackhawk’s GiftCardMall at banks and through mobile wallets that use Monitise.
“By working with Monitise, we are helping its bank partners bring great retail brands and consumers together with new revenue opportunities and marketing applications,” Tim Attinger, group vice president at Blackhawk Network, said.
The agreement will also expand the companies’ relationship into other markets.
