E-Commerce M&A: Companies Close $3.4B In Deals in Second Quarter 2012

E-commerce companies were involved in 77 mergers and acquisitions in the second quarter of 2012, with more than $3.4 billion in value being exchanged as a result, according to investment bank Petsky Prunier.

    The biggest e-commerce investment from the quarter was initiated by Japan’s Rakuten, which invested $100 million in Pinterest at a reported $1.5 billion valuation, the report says.
