At MasterCard’s recently inaugurated Dublin Labs office a new mobile app was unveiled. Koy is an app available on most smartphones, which combines coupons and local deals with social media. The idea is you redeem a coupon and share it with your friends, over and over.
MasterCard argues this new experience will benefit both customers and retailers. Koy is part of MasterCard’s recent decision to develop new ways to enhance the consumer experience beyond payments. Other initiatives projects include EVNTS, a social media advertising platform, delivers payments and next generation loyalty capability to merchants, large and small;
Koy works in Toronto, New York, St. Louis, Uppsala in Sweden and soon Dublin.
