Houzz Talks Word-Of-Mouth Marketing, Marketplace Building

California-based online home remodeling platform Houzz discussed its success at TechCrunch Disrupt SF on September 10, according to TechCrunch. 

Houzz CEO Adi Tatarko revealed how it was able to leverage word-of-mouth marketing to turn a pet project into a real business. She also imparted advice for entreprenuers.

“I think it’s very important to listen to both sides and create a product for your users,” Tatarko said, according to the media outlet. “You’re not creating it for investors, you’re not creating it to look nice on a powerpoint. You’re creating it for real people and you need to listen to them.”
