Jumia, the Africa-based online retailer funded by Rocket Internet, has announced the launch of a new mobile app, a press release revealed on August 27.

    The app will allow users to navigate Jumia more effectively, initiate online payments and receive push notifications for special sales.

    “MCommerce is not just an additional channel, but might be the entry point to gaining many more customers in a market where landlines are not always 100 percent stable,” Jeremy Hodara, Africa Internet Holding’s co-CEO, said in an August 27 statement.
