Vend, a New Zealand-based POS software service that incorporates existing systems like printers, cash drawers and barcode scanners into a POS alternative, now has $6 million more to fight for space in an increasingly crowded market.
VentureBeat noted that Vend could develop a niche, especially among merchants that haven’t yet converted to dongle-based POS systems.
The news added to a busy week in the world of POS, as the media outlet noted that “Vend’s funding news comes on the heels of announcements by Square and PayPal yesterday that could sound the death knell for cash registers.”
