Walmart Sees 40% Jump In Spend From Mobile Shoppers

According to a Walmart executive speaking at the Mobile Marketing Association’s SM2 conference, consumers who use the retailer’s mobile app spend more and shop more frequently than non-mobile users.

    “We found, most importantly, those who have our app are making twice as many trips to Walmart, and their spend is 40 percent more,” said Wanda Young, vice president of media and digital marketing at Walmart, according to Mobile Commerce Daily.

    Young also revealed that 55 percent of Walmart’s shoppers enter physical retail stores with smartphones, which has led to many of Walmart’s in-store app functions.
