Uber, Baby, Kids, Category, On-Demand

Uber Eats is adding a new category for babies and children so parents and caregivers can get fast delivery of everyday necessities, according to an Uber blog post.

“As new and existing parents embark on the exciting journey of parenthood, they’ll soon learn about the never-ending list of baby necessities that come along with having a child,” said Beryl Sanders, head of US&C New Verticals Partnerships at Uber Eats.

“So, we’re making it easier than ever for parents and caregivers to get what they need when they need it through the new baby and kids hub on Uber Eats,” Sanders said.

Uber partnered with Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY on a baby and kids vertical within the Uber Eats app. Uber will deliver baby and home products from almost 120 buybuy BABY and more than 750 Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

According to PYMNTS research, 52 percent of consumers have made a retail purchase using an online retail delivery aggregator such as Uber, Instacart and others over the past year.

Aside from Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY, Uber is also teaming up with Yumi, Honest, Lalo, Little Spoon, Nyssa and more. The new babies and kids hub aims to offer a variety of essentials with on-demand delivery service.

Everything from diapers and wipes to organic baby food and thermometers, placemats and more is available in the hub. Users can search on the app and tap “Baby” under categories or even search with the baby emoji 👶.

Along with the launch of the new hub, Uber will be supporting the non-profit organization Baby2Baby, which provides necessities to children in need nationwide. The non-profit has provided over 200 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals, underserved schools, and more.

“We’re proud to donate $200,000 to help Baby2Baby continue their incredible work,” Sanders said.

“As Uber Eats continues to be a one-stop-shop to get anything you need on demand, we’re thrilled to help parents and caregivers more easily keep their children happy, healthy and comfortable,” she added.
