TikTok Seller App Manages Online Stores via Smartphones

TikTok

TikTok on Friday (Dec. 3) launched the TikTok Seller app in Indonesia, giving sellers a new way to use TikTok Shopping features through their mobile devices, including registration, inventory management, orders, online business analysis and much more, according to a TechCrunch report on Monday (Dec. 6).

TikTok Seller lets sellers launch their new campaigns, manage promotions, provide customer service and access seller education materials, the report says, citing the app store listing. TikTok is running several TikTok Shopping pilot programs in Indonesia.

“We are always looking at ways to enhance our community’s experience and regularly test new features that inspire creativity, bring joy and innovate the TikTok experience,” a TikTok spokesperson said. “Brands on TikTok have found a creative outlet to authentically connect with audiences, and we’re excited to experiment with new commerce opportunities that enable our community to discover and engage with what they love.”

TikTok launched a Seller University website earlier this year aimed at the Indonesian market, and confirmed at the time that it was one of many tests of its eCommerce solutions. The company also rolled out a suite of TikTok Shopping tools that lets merchants add a Shopping tab to their TikTok profiles and create mini-storefronts through synced product catalogs.

Last week, TikTok debuted the Creator Next service, which lets creators unlock tools that reward their efforts on the social media platform. Creator Next will be paired with a couple of new features “that allow the community to show their appreciation” to creators: Tips and Video Gifts.

Tips lets people show gratitude to creators, who get 100% of the tip value, with payments processed by Stripe. Video Gifts lets creators collect Diamonds — gifts from viewers worth 5 cents — by going live and posting videos.

TikTok has also opened its TikTok Creator Marketplace (TTCM) to more users through Creator Next, allowing eligible creators with at least 10,000 followers to sign up to the marketplace and collaborate with brands that match their style and interest.
