The 2019 Innovation Readiness Index™, an i2c collaboration, gauges FIs’ innovation strategies based on survey responses from more than 200 financial institutions. PYMNTS asked financial decision-makers detailed questions about their FIs’ innovation processes, how they measured their recent innovations’ successes and their priorities going forward to provide a comprehensive look at the state of innovation in the financial sector.

  • 35.3: Average index score among FIs in 2018
  • 45.5%: Share of FIs that rolled out innovations after observing market trends
  • 25.4%: Portion of FIs that said budgetary restrictions hindered innovations
