Where Will We Bank Next?

The Where Will We Bank Next? Survey, a PYMNTS and Green Dot collaboration, surveyed more than 2,500 American consumers about their relationships with their banks and those with their favorite retailers to determine whether — and why — they would consider banking with non-FIs. Our analysis examines in finer detail why they trust certain FIs and what would motivate them to adopt financial services offered by their favorite merchants.

Notable findings from our study include:

  • 57.5%: Share of consumers who would be interested in banking with non-FIs
  • 37.8%: Share of Bridge Millennials who would consider banking with PayPal
  • 90.6%: Share of consumers who say their primary FIs fit their needs
