The pilot, which is to take place during this year’s Fashion Week (Feb. 9 – 14), will equip taxis with seatback TV screens that will feature demonstration videos featuring L’Oreal USA’s Lancome and Yves St. Laurent products.

Riders will be able to take a photo of the SnapTag from SpyderLynk and send it via text message to a provided code. The consumer will then be sent a mobile link to a checkout page where they can choose the products they wish to purchase.

According to SpyderLynk CEO Nicole Skogg, “the beauty of [this system is that] you’re basically bookmarking the web content and can then complete the purchase whenever you have the time. With the scan, you have everything you need to finish the transaction.”
