Align Commerce has been gradually adding new markets connected into its B2B payments platform, and on Thursday (Dec. 8), the firm revealed its latest target.
The U.K. is the newest country to link into the Align Commerce system, enabling SMEs to send and receive payments across borders to the more than 60 countries now integrated into its offering.
Align Commerce offers multiple payment rails for international payments to streamline and accelerate the rate at which money is moved. According to the company, the U.K. is a critical market for international payments, with $113 billion in cross-border trade between the U.K. and U.S. alone in 2015.
“The U.K. was one of the most requested payment corridors by our customers,” Align Commerce CEO and Cofounder Marwan Forzley said in a statement. “The U.S. is the U.K.’s largest exporting market, and small businesses need a cheaper, easier and more convenient way to transfer money.”
To promote its latest market connection, Align Commerce is offer to paying $100 worth of any invoice that a company settles between Dec. 8 and 31, so long as that invoice is for a transaction between a U.S. and U.K. company.
Earlier this year, Align Commerce added another major market to its payment infrastructure, connecting China into its payments network. At that time, the company also cited the high volume of B2B trade between China and the U.S., which surpassed $555 billion.

Last year, the firm began testing blockchain as an international payments rail.
