As these customers adopt 1Password’s developer and AI security tools, the number of monthly active human users of these tools grew 200% year over year, and the number of monthly active non-human identity users of the tools grew 500% year over year, according to the release.

Customers using the developer and AI security tools generate ARR growth that is five times faster than that of customers who don’t use the tools, per the release.

1Password CEO David Faugno said in the release that unlocking the potential of AI agents requires trust, and people must maintain control of what these agents can access and do.

“1Password has spent the past 20 years earning trust by providing people with simple, secure access to their digital world, and we are now applying that foundation to secure how agents get work done for people while keeping them in control,” Faugno said. “Accelerating through $500 million in ARR, with the fastest growth coming from customers adopting our developer and AI security tools, demonstrates that 1Password, alongside its network of partners, is becoming the trusted foundation for agents.”

1Password also announced Thursday that it launched a new platform that lets personal AI agents use passwords, secrets and credentials safely and without seeing or storing them.

The new 1Password for Agents platform lets people keep these credentials secure in 1Password while allowing their personal agents to sign in and take actions on their behalf, the company said in a Thursday press release.

The platform supports Meta’s Muse, Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work and dots, SpaceXSI’s Grok Bot and Town’s Townie. More integrations will be added, according to the release.

“An agent should be able to do the job it’s been asked to do without getting permanent access to everything behind the account, and 1Password provides the trust layer that makes this possible across personal agent experiences,” 1Password Chief Product Officer Aashish Tripathi said in the release.

PYMNTS reported in July that when 1Password and Anthropic released in beta an integration that lets Claude complete tasks that require usernames, passwords and authentication codes without those credentials ever reaching the AI model, they removed a bottleneck that had kept AI agents from completing those tasks.
