Research: 2.5 Million NFC Terminals Shipped In 2011

An estimated 2.5 million NFC-capable point-of-sale terminals were shipped in 2011, according to research group Berg Insight.

    The group estimates that the current global installed base of NFC-ready terminals sat at 3.9 million at the end of last year, and will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 49.4 percent until 2017, to 43.4 million units.
