Tapestry is a new mobile application directed at those who like to curate content online. Similarly to Pinterest you can create a virtual moodboard – a tapestry – of items they would like to purchase. The items are connected to a retailer’s e-commerce database and can be collected online or through a shop.

    The start-up Guided has used NFC technology to allow users to tag items in a shop that they can add to their wish list and then purchase online later if they want to. The application also allows users to share their wishlist and to receive rewards and discounts for their purchases.

    Retailers can simply add tags to their products that correspond to a product on their online data-base. This can be done through NFC tags or barcodes. Speaking to Tech Cruch, Tapestry founder, Sam Reid, said, “Brands spend a lot of time and resource in making and servicing online content to help sell their products. But it’s not easily accessible in store in a cost-effective way. Tapestry simply joins the dots and makes their hard work, work harder.”
