Barclays announced a new feature for its mobile payments application, Pingit, to help serve charity donations, reported Mobile Commerce News. The new service campaign is dubbed, “Donate with Gift Aid,” and will enable users to donate money to participating charities through Gift Aid.
People will be able to make donations by scanning QR codes and the code will commence the donation process. Users can submit the amount the wish to donate and which charity it will be put towards. At present, participating charities include, Macmillan Cancer Support, Dog Trust, Charities Trust and more.
