Braintree Challenges PayPal With Marketplace Debut

Braintree has launched its Marketplace API designed to “streamline payments for market-style businesses,” according to Braintree’s website.

    TechCrunch reports that Braintree is offering Marketplace to its clients at no additional cost from its normal transaction rates. TaskRabbit is already using the platform, as are other companies that Braintree cannot yet announce.

    TechCrunch notes that payment processor Stripe recently made a push in the marketplace space this June, and that PayPal is a big player in this vertical as well.
