Safaricom Accused of Stealing Rental Payments Idea

The founder of ManyattaRent, a rental mobile payments solution startup in Nairobi, has accused Safaricom of stealing its idea for rent collection services, reported HumanIpo. The founder, Steve Ngethe Njoroge, claims he was working with Safaricom’s business development department and discussing a potential joint venture.

    “We have been trying to get into the rent collection via M-Pesa space for a while now,” said Ngethe.

    At present, Safaricom has not made any public announcements and has not responded to the accusations.
