20M+ South Korean Credit Card Numbers Stolen

A former engineer for the Korean Credit Bureau has been accused of stealing millions of credit card numbers from major domestic credit card databases and subsequently selling them on the digital black market.

    The engineer has not been named, Finextra reported Jan. 20. KB Kookmin Card, Lotte Card and NH Nonghyup Card were among those affected.

    According to the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea, credit card companies will cover any losses incurred by cardholders.
