Amazon Prime Customers Get Their Own Credit Card

Amazon and Chase’s card for Prime customers attracts users with a pretty simple inducement — buy from Amazon, get back back points for other purchases. That has been the standard since the card was released a few years ago.

    But, as of now, the Amazon Prime card just got a bit of a bump. Rewards-wise, the cashback is going up to 5 percent from 3 percent. The newly upgraded card also includes 2 percent cashback on restaurants, gas stations and drugstores and 1 percent on all other purchases.

    But “cashback” is something of a misnomer since the card actually gives users points that are only usable on Amazon. They are reportedly easy to use, but they are definitely nontransferable.

    But, for big Prime users and enthusiasts, it is a good deal — particularly since the card also comes with no annual fee and no cost for foreign transactions.
