Crypto Exchange Provider Ranking Shows Binance, Coinbase, Crypto.com Lead the Pack

Binance CEO: CBDCs 'Very Positive' for Industry

It’s far from surprising that the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges’ wallets score higher in PYMNTS Cryptocurrency Exchange Provider Ranking, but there does seem to be a trend forming. The three top wallets belong to three of the biggest brands.

Binance is the world’s largest exchange by trade volume, and by a fair distance. As the first pure crypto company to go public by listing its stock on Nasdaq rather than by back-dooring in with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger, Coinbase is a top name in front of the general public.

And then there’s Crypto.com. It has plenty of size and history as well as the staggering 20-year, $700 million purchase of the naming rights to the Los Angeles home of the NBA’s Lakers and Clippers, and the WNBA Sparks, as well as professional hockey’s Kings. Staples Center no more; since the beginning of the year, they’re playing in the Crypto.com Arena.

However, it’s not the only one with basketball cred. Binance has worked a deal with the Miami Heat’s all-star center Jimmy Butler, while Coinbase signed Kevin Durant as a spokesperson and inked a deal to become the official cryptocurrency platform partner of both the NBA and WNBA.

The Top Five

So, with Binance, Coinbase and Crypto.com all tied for first place again with perfect scores of 100, you’ve got a score that mirrors last month. Before that, it was shared by Binance and Coinbase.

Meanwhile, Voyager held on to No. 2, and Gemini reclaimed its No. 3 spot, with previous holder KuCoin falling out of the top five.

Blockchain.com’s Blockchain Wallet moved up a slot to No. 4.

But No. 5 is really the big story this month, with Abra: Bitcoin & Crypto Wallet rocketing ahead by 27 points to a very respectable 82, which took it from well out of the top 10 and all the way into the top five.

The Top 10

OKEx held onto sixth place, but Huobi dropped two slots to number eight. In between was BitMart, retaining seventh place.

KuCoin dropped to ninth place, with a 14-point slump seeing it rack up a 75.

BlockFi lost a few places but held on top its top 10 slot.
