Cybersecurity will be the artificial intelligence industry’s next big market, in part because of the capabilities of new AI models set to be released by AI labs, Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang said Thursday (Sept. 10).
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology conference, Huang said: “The reason why there’s so much conversation today about cybersecurity is because the industry is getting ready to launch some products, and what better way to create demand than to create a problem. Who doesn’t want their market to be hysterical about their product and line up around the corner for it? So, there are responsible ways of doing it and there are less attractive ways of doing it.”
Because those who can code well can also debug well, there will be demand for AI tools, Huang said.
“Cybersecurity will likely be the next major use of AI, and it’s going to run continuously, and so it will be a great new business opportunity,” Huang said.

A World Economic Forum report published in January found that executives expected AI to be the most consequential factor shaping cybersecurity strategies this year. Ninety-four percent of surveyed executives said AI will be a force multiplier for both defense and offense.
The report highlighted how generative AI technologies are expanding the attack surface, contributing to unintended data exposure and more complex exploitation tactics that outpace the capacity of purely human-led teams.
PYMNTS reported Wednesday (Sept. 9) that AI is one of the factors, together with quantum computing and blockchain-based finance, that are attacking assumptions on which the modern security stack was built.
AI challenges the economics of human-centered detection and response, creating a more complicated capital-allocation problem for those in charge of cybersecurity budgets, the report said.
IBM said in July that after learning about the cyber capabilities of frontier AI models, a higher percentage of organizations plan to increase their security spending.
The share of organizations planning to increase security spending rose to 85% in May, up from 64% in the year from March 2025 to February 2026, the company said.
IBM attributed the increase to organizations “becoming aware of advanced frontier AI cyber capabilities.”
