Subscription plans called Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus and Facebook Plus are rolling out globally, Meta Head of Product Naomi Gleit said in a Wednesday (May 27) post on Instagram.
“These subscription plans offer richer ways to express and connect across our apps, with more fun features to be added,” Gleit said.
TechCrunch reported Wednesday that the monthly cost of these plans will be $3.99 for Instagram Plus, $3.99 for Facebook Plus and $2.99 for WhatsApp Plus. The report added that Meta will continue offering Meta Verified, which centers on verification, impersonation protection and extra support.
In addition to the subscription plans for the three apps, Meta will later start offering plans for creators, businesses and Meta AI power users, Gleit said in her post on Instagram.
“We’re also testing new subscription plans that offer premium features for those who want to unlock more from our apps and AI glasses,” Gleit said. “We’re starting with plans that give people who use Meta AI more to work with. More capacity; bigger, more complex requests; and more room to create.”

“For businesses and creators, we’re offering premium tools that allow you to enhance presence, supercharge content, automate tasks and protect your brand,” Gleit said.
Bloomberg reported Thursday that the consumer subscriptions for Meta AI will include Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month. The subscription plans for businesses and creators will include Meta One Essential at $14.99 per month and Meta One Advanced at $49.99 per month, according to the report.
Meta may also combine subscription plans under the name Meta One, Gleit said in her post.
“While we’re still testing and learning, eventually we see Meta One as the one place that brings our subscriptions together across all of our apps,” Gleit said. “This is just the beginning, with a lot more value to come.”
PYMNTS reported in April that Meta was leaning into AI and subscriptions to future-proof its ecosystem as it increases its spending for AI data centers and embeds the technology more deeply throughout its family of apps.
