Healthy Competition Among Telemedicine Apps Yields New Leader

Telemedicine

PYMNTS has taken the pulse of the apps in the field of telemedicine, as it does every month, and ranked them according to their scores in such factors as channel coverage, up-to-date downloads, monthly average users, sessions per user and average session length.

This time, in the latest PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps, we find the same contenders in the top 10 as we found last month, but there’s been quite a few changes of position.

The Top Five

The changes start at the top of the list. Last month’s runner-up, Teladoc, moves up one spot and now stands at No. 1 in the rankings.

Last month’s leader is not far behind though: MyTeleMed is now ranked second.

No change at the next level, though, where K Health remains at third.

Ditto as we reach No. 4. Doctor On Demand holds this spot as it did last time.

More stability in the next location among the top tier, as BetterHelp is again ranked fifth.

The Top 10

In the second tier of the rankings, two contenders remain where they were last month, but four others have moved around.

In the sixth position we have MDLIVE, living where it lived in last month’s rankings.

In the next spot we have a contender that has advanced two levels since last time. Making that leap in the rankings is Maple — 24/7 Online Doctors, which now rests at No. 7.

One of the two contenders sharing that location last month has edged down one level. Vsee Clinic is now ranked eighth.

Also slipping one level is HealthTap — 24/7 Telemedicine, landing in the No. 9 spot this month.

Round out this month’s top 10, we have a tie. InTouch Patient remains here as it did last month, but it now shares the spot. LiveHealth Online, which was one of the two contenders in the No. 7 spot last month, has dipped three levels but remains within this elite group.
