    Earlier this year, Visa felt it was hip to be “Square,” and now, T-Mobile apparently does, too.

    T-Mobile is now giving away Square’s mobile payment card reader to customers who upgrade to a 4G Pro smartphone plan, according to TechCrunch. The deal also comes with unlimited data, talk and text plan for $69.99 with a two-year contract extension.

    “This appears to be the first promotion of Square by a carrier, which should provide nice publicity for the mobile payments startup,” comments TechCrunch’s Leena Rao.

    Last month, Square’s leader, Jack Dorsey, revealed at the Techonomy conference in Arizona that the mPayment startup is now processing around $11 million daily. (More details)
