MasterCard Reveals Staggering Statistics on Growth of Prepaid

Research from 2010 indicates that the prepaid segment could reach $163 billion by 2017, according to MasterCard’s Group Head of Prepaid Product Management Neil Dugan. He explores the winning distribution models in the prepaid marketplace and discusses MasterCard’s plans for increasing its participation in the sector in this exclusive NEXTcast interview.

Executive Bio: Neil E. Dugan (Group Head, Prepaid Product Management at MasterCard Worldwide)

Neil Dugan is Senior Vice President and Group Head, Global Prepaid Product Management, for MasterCard Worldwide. In this capacity, Mr. Dugan is responsible for MasterCard’s strategy, product development and management of its Commercial and Public Sector prepaid products globally.

Mr. Dugan joined MasterCard in 2008 with more than 20 years of management experience in financial services. Prior to joining MasterCard, he served as product executive at JPMorgan, responsible for managing its public sector prepaid card business.  

Prior to his work at JPMorgan, Mr. Dugan managed a prepaid product development team at Citigroup. He was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all new products, service extensions and product enhancements for both the public and private sector markets.

Mr. Dugan also has extensive experience in the electronic payments area, with a background in both domestic and international payments.
