Acquirer/Processor and Remittance Industries Close A Strong Week

Thanks to a quintet of companies who saw gains of over two percent, the Acquirer/Processor industry had a very strong week, growing 2.72 percent as an industry.

ACI Worldwide Inc., Heartland Payment Systems Inc. and Fidelity National Information’s Services Inc. were the third, fourth and fifth-largest gainers of the week, respectively. ACI Worldwide finished at $45.65 a share for a 5.2 percent jump, Heartland Payment finished at $31.76 for a 4.5 percent boost and Fidelity grew 3.7 percent to $32.68.

Two more acquirer/processors, Fiserv Inc. and Ingencio SA, each grew 2.1 percent.

A 3.1 percent gain for Western Union and 0.8 percent gain for MoneyGram helped the remittance industry to an overall 2.89 percent increase, helping to cement an overall 2.35 percent growth over the past month.

The biggest individual winner of the week was TNS Inc., who saw stocks rise 6.6 percent to $15.56 a share – a modest rebound considering the overall 12.1 percent decrease in its year-to-date value. Green Dot had a second consecutive strong week as well, finishing at $12.07 for a 5.4 percent increase.

VeriFone Systems had the worst week in our index, witnessing a 6.5 percent drop in value to $32.48 a share after failing to meet their third quarter estimates. Their rough week was somewhat mitigated, though, by a strong Friday close.
