Capital One Latest Victim Of Cyber Attack

Capital One became the latest major U.S. bank to fall victim to a denial of service attack claimed by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters group.

     Capital One was attacked midday Tuesday just hours after an al-Qassam blog post claimed that the group would target Capital One, SunTrust and Regions Financial in the coming days, reports Fox Business. The same group has also claimed responsibility for the DDoS attacks launched against Citigroup, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, PNC Bnak and US Bancorp in September.

    al-Qassam claims it will not cease its attacks until a YouTube video insulting the Prophet Mohammed is taken down. al-Qassam has been linked to both the Iranian government and Hamas, although neither connection has been verified.
