    Payments startup Dwolla and e-commerce platform operator Etsy are partnering to launch Ecommerce Hack Day, a New York City event where hundreds of programming specialists will be invited to create new payment software.

    Zappos, Twilio, and Stripe are also said to be participating in the event, according to VentureBeat.

    “For every hackathon, maybe one hack lives on,” said Alex Taub, head of business development for Dwolla, in an interview with the tech news outlet. “We’re not guaranteeing that anyone will build something that will last… Just we think there is a much higher chance.”
