European Parking App Coming To America

The parking-by-smartphone service Pango has had success in Israel and Europe — about 2 million transactions a month in Israel, France, Germany and Poland — and is now setting stage for an entry into the American market, according to The Baltimore Sun. Dani Shavit holds the U.S license for Pango, and has tried to gain a foothold in the U.S market. Since it opened its headquarters in Baltimore last year, Pango Shyyny USA LLC has signed deals with Latrobe, a private garage in the heart of New York City; and CityScape, a retail and office complex with 2,500 spaces in Phoenix, the news source also reported.

    With Pango, customers can download the app and register a vehicle by license plats as well as enter their credit card information. The customer can pay through a virtual parking meter that clocks the time of entry and exit, and bills the customer on a monthly basis. The service is hoping to attract a larger base of customers in cities with malfunctioning meters and kiosk services, The Sun reported.
