Demand for increased access to financial services in India “has never been more urgent,” says T.V. Seshardi, Division President, South Asia, MasterCard Worldwide.
Seshardi estimates that one of every three residents in India — 450 million people total — do not have access to basic financial services. At the same time, 88 percent of Indian consumers own a mobile phone.
