The National Science Foundation has launched an “ecoATM” service that allows users to trade in old electronic equipment for cash, store vouchers or a charitable donation.

    The NSF claims that the ecoATM sends three-fourths of contributed devices find second homes, while the others are disposed of according to Responsible Recycling standards.
