After falling a total of -0.77 percent last week, payments fell an additional -0.81 percent over the past five days, with the POS Equipment/Software, Acquirer/Processor and Remittance industries all experiencing significant losses.

VeriFone Systems suffered the biggest drop this week, falling -12.42 percent to $27.85, nearing their 52-week low. VeriFone has lost nearly 20 percent of its value over the past month as estimates of poor four-quarter revenue and an influx of competitors have weakened the technology company.

NCR Corporation, MICROS Systems and Ingenico are three more POS Equipment/Processors who suffered losses this week. NCR fell -2.67 percent to $23.31, MICROS fell $49.16 and Ingenico lost -1.2 percent to fall to an even $40.00.

NetSpend holding was this week’s biggest overall winner, rising 6.39 percent to $9.83 with a bevy of market analyzers speculating that now is a good time to purchase stock. Fellow prepaid player Green Dot continued its roller coaster ride, this week falling -5.49 percent to $12.23. Still, the prepaid industry as a whole enjoyed a 2.14 percent gain.

Discover was the only network to benefit from a strong week, jumping to $39.76 a share for an increase of 2.87 percent after beating its projected earnings. American Express and MasterCard each fell around 1.75 percent, with Visa essentially holding serve, losing just -0.53 percent to fall to $134.28.
