Olympic Games Brought Top Dollars To UK With Visa

International travelers enjoying the Olympic Games in the London spent an additional $716.7 million on their Visa accounts during the second week of the games alone. According to Visa, the top five contributors were United States, Japan, France, Italy, and Australia, with an overall spending of more than $1.4 billion to date.

    The top three spending categories are “Services” ($139.1 million), including items such as shoe and jewelry repair and spas; “Entertainment” ($106.6 million), which include theater tickets and other attractions, “Airlines” ($82.4 million), and “Clothing”($67.9 million) surpassed “Other Retail,” which includes bike shops, bookstores, antique stores and drug stores.
